Ray Archuleta L Building Soil Health in a Drying Climate | In-Person Seminar | Bridgetown

Ray Archuleta L

Join COBWA for an informative event with renowned soil health expert. Ray Archuleta has a background in soil science and agronomy. He has worked for the United States Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) for over three decades, where he served as a soil scientist and soil health specialist. During his time at NRCS, he became passionate about promoting conservation practices that focus on building and maintaining healthy soils.

Archuleta is a proponent of regenerative agriculture, which emphasises improving soil health through practices such as minimal soil disturbance, cover cropping, crop rotation, and integrating livestock into farming systems. These practices aim to enhance soil structure, increase water retention, and promote biodiversity, leading to more resilient and sustainable agricultural systems.

“Whether a farm operation relies on new sunlight (captured by living plants) or ancient sunlight (from man-made fertilizers, pesticides and diesel) it dramatically impacts the resiliency of the farm” says Archuleta.

In his three engaging sessions, Ray will share his expertise on building soil health in a drying climate. Discover practical techniques and innovative approaches to improve soil resilience and maximize crop productivity.

This Regenerative Agriculture event is made possible thanks to RegenWA and funding from Lotterywest. RegenWA is powered by the Perth NRM Restoration Impact Framework project with funding from Lotterywest, and Commonland.
