Western Australia is experiencing a drying climate, which has increased the frequency of droughts and dry seasons. Efforts are focused on improving resilience through water conservation, sustainable farming methods, diversifying crops that can withstand arid conditions, amongst an array of other practices and techniques. Collaboration among stakeholders and sharing knowledge and experience are crucial in addressing these challenges and adapting to the changing climate effectively.
The three case studies linked below examine how farmers and landholders have implemented practices on their properties to help improve their resilience to a drying climate. These practices include building natural capital through planting native vegetation, applying landscape rehydration techniques to help retain water in the landscape and implementing grazing management strategies to maintain groundcover.
