RegenWA is pleased to announce we are supporting a state-wide collaboration between regional NRMs and Landcare groups offering a series of workshops featuring internationally acclaimed Canadian agronomist, Kevin Elmy.

A highly respected regenerative agriculture educator and advocate, Kevin’s expertise spans from cover crops and companion crops to livestock management and soil microbes. Within RegenWA’s membership, soil biology, diversification, and livestock management are among the most frequently requested topics for workshops, making Kevin’s upcoming events extremely valuable. Having already collaborated with Lower Blackwood Catchment LCDC on a recent soil health webinar with Kevin through our Make Your Hectare Count project, we are eager to facilitate these engagements between Kevin and local landholders to further ground this knowledge within a practical, Western Australian context.

The events are planned throughout February 2026 and will extend from the Lower Blackwood Catchment in the south to Irwin in the north.

The Kevin Elmy Tour complements NACC’s Future Farm Foundations Project’s ‘Resilient Farming Event Series,’ running throughout February. The programme includes local workshops with well-respected farmers and consultants including Nick Eyres, Kevin Elmy, Joel Williams and Grant Sims. Amongst the tour, Kevin will be delivering expertise for a Where to Start workshop, a RegenWA initiative which will be run in the Northern Agricultural Region in collaboration with NACC. Farmers looking to transition to regenerative practices often ask, “Where to start?”, and for many, peer learning from experienced growers and independent consultants can be the answer. To support early steps towards transitioning, up to 10 farming businesses will take part in a free peer-to-peer working groups starting in February and March 2026, offering deep-dive sessions into the intricate processes underlying regenerative agriculture, individual support, and follow-up group discussions to help farmers map out their next steps.

These offerings highlight a great example of cross-regional collaboration to combine resources, foster supportive networks, and bring impactful events to the WA farming community.

Along with supporting this tour and increasing affordable access to world-class educators, our Accelerating Regenerative Agriculture Project is enhancing farmer adoption of evidence-based regenerative practices by providing practical on-ground support, training packages, and improved awareness via learnings from local demonstrations and case studies.
