Alejandro Carrillo’s Aussie Tour – Ednah Station

In 2023, Alejandro Carillo, visited the Southern Rangelands of WA as part of Future Drought Fund activities. On his tour, he visited Ednah Station, where brothers Angus and Toby of Ednah Station were able to receive advice from Alejandro on building resilience. Here are a few of Alejandro’s tips…

• When trialing new grazing methods, do so close to your homestead. You can monitor stock, observe landscape changes, and maintain interest much better.
• Start new practices in your most productive areas – you’ll get a better, quicker ROI and this will keep you motivated.
• Run large herds in small paddocks, giving paddocks the recovery time they need.
• Running different species together may quicken the regenerative process, as they all have different feeding preferences.
