RegenWA, in collaboration with Curtin University’s eDNA Frontiers, is seeking three broadacre farmers in the Shire of Chittering to participate in an innovative biodiversity project using environmental DNA (eDNA), funded by Landcare Australia. This project aims to improve the protection of threatened native species on-farm by confirming their presence through eDNA sampling in remnant bushland, riparian zones, and production areas. By generating a “Tree of Life” report, we will identify both native and feral species and prioritise on-ground actions such as revegetation, fencing, groundcover establishment, erosion control, and pest management. Implementation recommendation plans will be produced for each farm. One farm will be selected to host a demonstration site showcasing the process from planning to implementation and monitoring. An Accounting for Nature environmental assessment on this demonstration farm will complement the eDNA results to provide farm-specific, evidence-based recommendations.Please submit your completed form to Bonnie Jupp by October 24th.
