Livestock Essentials 101: What Every Small Producer Should Know

What to expect:

In this webinar, RegenWA Project Manager Tibby Tuckett will be joined by Amanda Burchmann (JAB Agri Solutions) and Matt Brown (Brown Cattle & Country Consultants) to unpack the key requirements for smaller livestock producers and land managers.

We’ll cover the practical questions many landholders ask, including:

  • What is NLIS and what does it mean for me?
  • What is LPA and do I need to be part of the program?
  • How do I keep up with industry changes?
  • What information should I be recording?
  • What does biosecurity look like in practice — from quarantining new livestock to visitor registers and managing weeds and pests?
  • What is animal welfare, and what considerations should I be aware of?

Amanda and Matt will also share insights from a national survey of hobby farmers and small livestock producers, highlighting the gaps in knowledge (particularly for WA farmers), and where more support and resourcing is needed.

There will be time at the end of their presentation for questions so come prepared! We hope you can join us but if not, there will be a recording available to those that registered.

This event is supported by funding through the Western Australian Government’s State NRM Program.
