RESOURCE
Perth NRM and RegenWA are excited to announce that expressions of interest are now open to join a cohort of growers and mentors in a regenerative agriculture transition series.
This series will comprises three elements; four regionally based ‘Where To Start’ workshops guided by experienced regenerative farmers and consultants/advisors, followed by one-on-one farm visits, as well as check-in sessions with the other transition series participants.
This initiative is part of Perth NRM and RegenWA’s project, Accelerating Regenerative Agriculture Adoption, which aims to increase the uptake of evidence-based regenerative agriculture practices across Western Australia.
The project, funded by the Western Australian Government’s State NRM Program, will empower Western Australian farmers with knowledge, skills, networks and access to local demonstrations to apply regenerative practices based on their context.
‘Where to Start’ Workshops
Four workshops will be held across four different regions, capped at a total of 10 attendees per workshop, from up to five farming businesses. These workshops will facilitate a safe, collaborative, and highly practical environment for kitchen table and paddock-based conversations around where to start the regenerative agriculture journey. Participants will have the opportunity to learn directly from experienced regenerative farmers and qualified specialists, discuss challenges and successes, and work together on practical approaches tailored to individual farm contexts.
Follow-up Farm Visits
A half day of support from the consultant and/or farming mentor present at the ‘Where To Start’ workshops will be provided for up to five workshop participants, where more specific direction on transition steps suited to that particular property and business will be offered.
Group Check-ins
Following the initial workshops and subsequent farm visits, a check-in session will be offered to all participants. This will enable farmers involved in these activities to reconvene with their consultant and/or mentor, and fellow participants. This check-in provides an opportunity to exchange learnings and share setbacks and achievements, while creating a foundation for ongoing peer support and reassurance that challenges encountered are not being faced alone.
